Lightweight, rugged and roomy, it features a top-loading main compartment with 55 liters of storage space, top and bottom pack access, a bottom sleeping bag compartment, a hydration-ready design and plenty of accessories to hold gear like ice axes and hiking poles.

  • Dual, contoured aluminum frame bars can be adjusted to fit the shape of your back.

  • Molded foam back panel with Airflow™ channels to keep your back cool and dry.

  • Front flap with adjustable straps holds extra gear.

  • Webbing daisy chain on both sides.

  • Internal hydration reservoir sleeve and dual exit ports for tube (reservoir not included).

  • Removable media pocket is attached to the backpack strap.

  • Adjustable bottom compression straps.

  • Adjustable sternum strap stabilizes pack.

  • Soft lashing hardware holds ice ax/hiking poles.

  • Dual mesh pockets hold 1000ml water bottles.

  • Tuck-away rain cover, stored in a bottom pocket, also protects the pack when checked for air travel.

    Awesome BackpackI got my pack right before the weekend and so impressed by the style and functionality that I had to use it that very same weekend. I can't be more impressed with what I have.     Explorer 55 Hiking Pack by High SierraI put the pack through hell in Yosemite National Park and it survived...one plastic bracket broke, but that was my hiking partner's fault for placing too much pressure on it when he was tightening the strap. I do wish the pack was waterproof though. If this pack had metal brackets and was waterproof, it could probably withstand ANYTHING.
